Tulip Pastel Flower Art Illustration

This is the first pastel illustration that I've ever done, using pastel charcoal. Tulip pastel is done on 11" X 14" on canvas paper.

The colors used are such vibrant array of fluidity used to display the such bright bold colors.

Emotion and action are vital to my work I break down colors and create layers that are irresistible. The elements that visually express my technique are specific objects. They create form and add to the canvas. The objects are often chosen at random, but find significant ways to tell the story in the painting.

SPLIT DECISION

Back on the Blog

It's been several months since I've been here on the blog. I seldomly feel as though this type of thing wasn't for me, in writing everyday the outcome of every painting that I've painted.

Over the past I haven't felt like painting and the thrill of the brush hitting the canvas had began to fizzle away. After watching and seeing others begin to post their subjects on social media, I felt again the ingiting once again of the colors splashing on the canvas.

Sometimes I ask myself was it just an artist block or just the desire to relax and wait for the perfect timing to go for it. Well it was worth laying the brush to the canvas once again.
